How long is a pink slip valid in NSW?
A pink slip (eSafety check) is valid for six months from the date of inspection in New South Wales. You must complete a pink slip inspection every year if your vehicle is more than five years old to renew your registration with Service NSW.
How much does a pink slip cost?
The maximum inspection fee for a pink slip in NSW is set by Transport for NSW - currently $52 for cars and light vehicles, $29 for motorcycles, and $27-$41 for trailers (effective 1 July 2026).
